Terms and Conditions for Wosool Platform

Wosool platform provides these terms and conditions to inform the honorable users of the policy and legal practices of the application and the website; therefore, kindly read these terms and conditions thoroughly before using this online platform, where your use of it states your consent of these terms and conditions.

a. Definitions:

• Wosool: It is a platform consisting of an application for smartphones and a website under the supervision of Sultan Qaboos University in the Sultanate of Oman. The platform intends to offer direct support services for students with disabilities in educational institutions by linking beneficiary students with volunteers who are associated with the same institution.
• Beneficiary students: Students with (visual, motor, or hearing disabilities) who are officially registered in the educational institution and who experience challenges in accessing the facilities and services provided by the educational institution alone.
• Volunteers: Every individual who belongs to that educational institution and has the ability to provide the services provided by the platform electronically.
• The administration: The supervising party of the Wosool platform and who has the right to manage the various operations provided by the application or website in cooperation with other departments at Sultan Qaboos University.
• Electronic Devices: They include computers, tablets, and smartphones.

b. Data Protection:

• Any personal information you provide us with when you use this application or website will be treated according to our privacy policy.
• All personal information, including names - phone numbers - email addresses – addresses - provided to us will not be shared or disclosed to any third party.

c. Property Rights:

• It is not permissible to copy, modify, publish, broadcast, distribute, sell, or transfer any materials on this application or website, whether in whole or in part, without a prior explicit written authorization.
• The contents of this application or website may be downloaded, printed, or copied for personal use, only for students benefiting from the service (the disabled students) and are authorized to do so.
• Any unauthorized use of this application or website may lead to a violation of copyright laws, trademark laws, privacy and publicity laws, and basic rules and laws for communications.

d. Optimal Use:

• You may not use this application or website except as per these terms and conditions in any case, and for legitimate and proper purposes, which include compliance with all laws, regulations, and codes of practice in force in the Sultanate of Oman or any other jurisdiction territory from which you connect to this site.
• No one may send random e-mails, download, or attach virus-containing files, or invalid files to any person, or similar malicious programs that destroy the operating system of another person’s electronic device.

e. Limits of Liability:

• You agree that you do not have and will not have any right to file a lawsuit of any kind against us as concerns the use of this application or website, or in connection with it, moreover; you will be held liable in the event of publishing or distributing materials, links, information, or opinions that incite violence and sectarianism and does not respect religions or offend national symbols and constants.

f. The Underlying Rules:

• Not to violate the laws in force or incite others to violate them, bearing in mind not to insult, libel, harass, and violate the rights of others through comments and available means of communication.

g. Compensation for Damages:

• You approve to compensate us for damages and keep us insured from and against all costs, claims, demands, liabilities, expenses, damages, or losses (including but not limited to consequential losses, loss of profit and loss of reputation, and all interests, fines, costs, and other legal and professional expenses) that arise from or are related to your breach of these terms and conditions.

h. Association with Other Websites:

• The application or website may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience, and by using these links, you will leave our website, and we do not control those websites or their legal practices that differ from our website’s policies and procedures, and we do not support third-party websites, nor do we represent them. These terms and conditions do not apply to other websites, and we invite you to review the terms and conditions of any other website before entering the logging into the application or the website itself.

i. Direct interaction with students with disabilities:

By registering on the Wosool platform, you agree to commit to the observance of aspects related to the manner of direct interaction with students with disabilities before, during, and after providing the required service, and most notably are:

• Respecting the beneficiary student and not complaining about providing the service or insulting them with words or actions that degrade their human worth.
• Preservation of the privacy of the beneficiary student and non-disclosure of any personal or academic information or statements that might negatively influence them.
• Commitment to providing the service on the specified date without any delay, and if there is any reason preventing you from providing the service, then this must be indicated through the platform or by contacting the administration.
• The volunteer is not allowed to bear the academic costs on behalf of the beneficiary student, but the task of the volunteer is limited to helping them access the academic content or the required place.

j. Registration in vehicle transportation services:

The Wosool platform provides services to help transport students with disabilities by private vehicles, and for this reason, those wishing to provide this service must adhere to the following:

• It is essential to fill out the registration form for accepting the registration request for the volunteer and the vehicle.
• The vehicle driver must be at least 18 years old.
• The driver must have a valid driver's license in all stages of his work with us.
• The driver must provide the platform with a copy of the driver's license and vehicle ownership, with the necessity to correctly insert all the required data, and using a vehicle that has not been registered in the platform is considered a violation against which legal measures may be taken.
• The transportation service is provided inside the university campus only, and it is absolutely not permissible to cross the campus boundaries without the prior approval of the platform administration.
• The driver must be enrolled at Sultan Qaboos University.

k. Fragmentation of the Terms and Conditions:

• If any provision (or part of it) of these terms and conditions is considered illegal and void or not enforceable for any other reason, then it is considered a separate provision from these terms and conditions and does not influence the validity and enforceability of any of the remaining provisions. l. Notifications of Changes:

• We maintain the right to change the terms and conditions of our platform at any time without prior notice, and your continued access to the application or the website or your continued use of it after these changes states your approval of the terms and conditions after adjusting them, and it is your responsibility to review the terms and conditions regularly.
